The Boy on the Bridge

'The Boy On The Bridge' by M.R. Carey
This serves as a prequel (and sequel in parts) to the word-of-mouth-bestseller 'The Girl With All The Gifts', which was adapted for the screen by the author and starred Glen Close.

When the summer holidays started I was eager to get started on this book and it did not disappoint. Carey's dystopian world is brilliantly realised and the journey from the Highlands of Scotland down to London, seen through the eyes of an autistic teenager, is filled with tragedy and terror at every turn.

I would recommend this book to both teenagers and adults alike.
