Wapping High School will be a new co-educational 11-16 secondary school opening in September 2012.

Wapping High School will be an outstanding school, raising aspirations, broadening horizons, and ensuring better outcomes for all its students. The school will build upon the diverse background of every student, offering a personalised curriculum to engage learning and develop inquisitive minds.

The school day at Wapping High School will be lengthened to enable all its students to participate in a range of exciting and stimulating enrichment activities.

Wapping High School to open in 2012

The Department for Education has approved our application to open a co-educational secondary school in September 2012. We will now work with the government to secure premises and draw up a funding agreement.

Parents will shortly be able to apply for a place for their child in September 2012. Staff recruitment will start to take place towards the end of the year. Keep checking the website for new information and updates.

This campaign is run by parents who give their time freely and are determined to improve the education of local children for everyone.

Families in Wapping, Shadwell and Limehouse have no access to a local co-educational secondary school. The situation is getting worse. By 2014 Tower Hamlets will lack 240 year 7 pupil places and the shortage is projected to get bigger each year thereafter.

  • Our supporters include: Jim Fitzpatrick MP, London Assembly Member John Biggs,
    and Dame Helen Mirren.

Wapping, Shadwell and Limehouse have some of the highest levels of child poverty in England!

Wapping High School will have an non-selective admissions policy and provide an outstanding education for all children. Find out more about our vision here.

We are now looking for banks, businesses and charities to back us and ensure the succes of this unique, ambitious community driven school. By backing this project a company will be demonstrate its commitment to providing outstanding education to some of England's poorest children. If you think you can help please contact us.
