A training session will take place on Tuesday 4th March at 5.30 pm for all parents, staff and governors who are interested in how Wapping High School is governed. The session is aimed both at those interested in becoming a governor and anyone who simply wants to know more about the work of governors. We have intived Mary Groom from city law firm, Bates Wells Braithwaite to lead the training. Mary is a partner in the Charity & Social Enterprise department and qualified as a solicitor at Bates Wells Braithwaite in 1998, prior to which she was a science teacher in comprehensive schools for ten years. She leads on education policy and the maintained schools sector for the Education Group. BWB is both a commercial law firm and the leading charity and social enterprise lawyers in the UK.
At the end of the session there will be a chance to ask your own questions of existing governors. Don't worry if you can't make the session we hope to produce a video of the event.
